Sex in the monastery

Summary

We used to be shocked by sex scandals in the clergy. Given the endless stream of those wrongdoings, we no longer are. Heterosex has also become old news. The rage now is about gay and paedophile monks. The latest scandal involved an abbot in Nakhon Si Thammarat. His lover accused him of being unfaithful after finding out that the abbot had invited a group of teenagers to drink and party at his quarters. The last straw was reportedly the taint of semen on the abbot's mattress. Their quarrel turned violent. The jilted lover, after being beaten up, reported the matter to the police. The abbot fled and quit the monkhood to avoid arrest and forced disrobement. Having sexual intercourse, either straight or gay, is a cardinal sin in the monks' code of conduct. Their monkhood automatically ends once they commit the crime. When found out, they must be expelled from the clergy.

Personal Response

Our societies nowadays, good and bad persons are living together, in buddhism too. I think all monks should follow and keep all Sila of monks. Otherwise it will affect the image of Buddhism. If they cannot follow the rules, quit from monkhood is better. When monks no longer know what ordination and monkhood means, there is little hope for change. On the other hand, I do believe that there still have many of good pure heart monks who work for duty and never asking for anything in return.

Thailand gets an official cocktail

By: BangkokPost.com
Published: 21/02/2009 at 01:55 AM
One government branch wants all holiday alcohol sales banned, but another is luring tourists to the country to drink a few Siam Sunrays - made with "hazardous substances".
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) on Friday had a formal introduction of the new alcoholic drink, which it hopes will do for Thailand what the Manhattan did for New York - whatever that was.The TAT introduced a drink that it calls Siam Sunrays, and by fiat of the TAT, it is now the official signature cocktail of Thailand and "gives the Thai tourism and hospitality industries a much-needed boost."
The Siam Sunrays (TAT Photo)
It's made with vodka, syrup, lime juice and soda water and some Thai ingredients: coconut liqueur, chilli and ginger, a leaf of Kaffir lime and three slivers of lemon grass.Meanwhile, Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai is battling with his deputy minister Manit Nopamornbodi, who wants to ban all sales of all alcoholic beverages for the entire three-day Songkran (Thai New Year) holiday in mid-April."I don't want the anti-alcohol campaign to worsen the tourism industry," said Mr Witthaya last week, but Mr Manit insists that a 2008 beverage control law makes it mandatory to ban all sales of all alcohol during all major holidays. Their dispute continues. If that's not enough, bureaucrats of the industry minister have just declared that three key ingredients of the cocktail - chilli, giner and lemon grass - to be "hazardous substances" because they are used as pesticide ingredients by organic farmers. The TAT is deaf to all this. Siam Sunrays is a perfect drink for anyone, any time, and "is the distinctive taste of Thailand."Others might have thought that tom yang goong and Pad Thai were the distinctive tase of Thailand, but TAT sees tourists flocking to Siam Sunrays.Brand cocktails "can help raise awareness of the destination," TAT claimed in high-profile press release that also cited the Singapore Sling or the Cuban Mojito from Havana - "part of global cosmopolitan culture and recognised worldwide," it claimed."Successful signature drinks are one way to fast track holiday destinations on to the world tourism map," according to the un-credited writer of the TAT press release. And, "Visitors are always keen to have a taste of the local signature drink as part of their overall trip experience."According to the government agency, Siam Sunrays was created by Surasakdi Pantaisong. He won the 2008 national bartender contest, which by coincidence was sponsored by the TAT and the Thai Hotels Association, the two groups pushing the new alcoholic drink at the foreign public. The TAT did not mention the extra award and payment it gave to Mr Surasakdi for the drink and his permission to use it in national promotions.
Here is the full recipe for the Siam Sunrays, from the TAT website:
Ingredients
30-40 ml of Smirnoff vodka30 ml of coconut liqueur15 ml of syrup1/4 cm of Thai chilli pepper3 slices of young ginger1 Kaffir lime leaf3 slivers of lemon grass3 drops of lime juiceSoda water Preparation:
Crush the small Thai chilli pepper, young ginger, Kaffir lime leaf, and lemon grass together in a shaker to bring out the aroma and flavour of the Thai herbs
Add syrup, lime juice and Smirnoff and shake well
Strain into a glass with ice; top up with soda water; garnish with chilli, lemon grass and a slice of lime

Summary: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) now have new alcoholic drink it name Siam Sunrays for the Thai tourism and hospitality industries. Blend is from Thai herb.

Personal Response: It a good idea for New alcoholic drink because it is strange from previously . That made Thai have New Product for entertain tourism and welcome to Songkarn Day.

Using context clues to teach vocabulary
Context clues
If the appropriate level of material is selected, student should understand
most of vocabulary. If the teaching material does not include unfamiliar
vocabulary, selections in other texts at a slightly higher level should present an opportunity for students to work on vocabuary using context clues.
As such, this material should introduce unfamiliar vocabulary followed by:
commas; dashes; and cohesion markers, such as, for example; the verb to be; relative clauses; and finally, sets of grammatically similar words used
in conjunction with the unfamiliar vocabulary item.
Easy clues
The first four are relatively easy, as many writers, knowinga vocabulary
item is likely to be unfamiliar, will follow it with an appositive or short
definition between commas or parenthesis, or will follow an obscure, low-
frequency vocabulary with a dash, followed by an explanation.
When dealing with vocabulary in context with students at a lower level, it
is best to limit efforts to finding reading passages using these four punctuation marks. They are relatively easy for students to find, invariably
offer a definition they can understand, and lend them-selves to quick reading.
Once students understand these clues, ask them to read selections later in the text an skim through looking for parenthesis and dashes, and quickly
report what word the author believes is unfamiliar and what the definition is. This is not only good practice, but it is also a genuine skimming exercise.
Not-so-easy clues
The text two ideas are a bit more difficult. When writers use the verb to be, students must first recognise that the predicate is the meaning and
then, if the explanation is not given as a synonym or antonym, spend the
time and or seek support to unravel the meaning.
In ture, relative clauses are a bit more difficult as more information is given and must be processed, which can slow down and frustrate readers.
It is best to lead students carefully into and through these examples by explaining how the relative clause is functioning in relation to the word described.
Time required
Understanding vocabulary in context takes time, more time at first for many students than using a dictionary, which means they need to have time and encouragement to try. Once students become comfortable with
these ideas, try to use this approach when presenting new vocabulary in
the various warm-up activities you employed.

Summary

This article talk about, students should not normally use a dictionary in class unless it is an English-to-English dictionary or the class is designed
to teach dictionary skills . However, as it is impossible to ask them to give
up dictionary cold turkey, they need to be encouraged not only to stop using dictionary, but also to leave them at home.

Personal Response

I think, students, they don't like reading English dictionary or English
books, because they feel to difficult and don't understand.
But,school or teacher must help or explain to students about English language is not difficult if students try to learn a little and more little....,
Sometime can doing English activity, like games,English singing contest.
to make them enjoy or fun with English language.

The thrill begins when a new vampire finds it a challenge to hunt Bella down for her irresistible blood. The game is on and James will not stop until she is killed.

Personal Response
I think Twilight isn't going to be any great literary piece that will be cherished a hundred or even fifty years from now. I personally liked Twilight, and contrary to many opinions, it is not because I am a teen looking for love and romance. I thought that Stephanie Meyer did a fantastic job with the kind of book she wanted to write. I have to admit, thought, that it won't be a classic. Harry Potter maybe, not Twilight. And people please don't take this opportunity to bash Mrs. Meyer. How many people wrote four books and had it become the most popular saga in the USA?

And they still believe in that doing cosmetic surgery will make them has looked good to go up then turn to may help them have better self-esteem.
In my opinion, the deliver judgment a person from outside appearance, that should not the proper thing. Because of, taking all of totals up a person from a person alone or from an anything just time that thing is something superficially person. And should not standard in something a person that good or bad? Besides, I think doing surgery that operation should do correct for what and deficient more than.

Now, to be quite honest I am not a reader, but for some reason I had a gut feeling that this book would be worth my time, before watching the movie. After I purchased the novel, I sat down and finished it in one sitting. The entire novel had me drawn in and numerous emotions went through me as I read it. I couldn't put it down and waited impatiently for the film to be released into video stores. I purchased the movie because the book was incredible. Secondhand Smoke Dangers: Quitting Cigarettes Now Will Help Keep Loved Ones Safe

Summary

The paragraph sad about secondhand smoke dangers. Of the 250 toxic chemicals found in secondhand or("passive") smoke. California Environmental Protection Agency found seconhand smoke causes an estimated 3,400 lung cancer deaths and 46,00 heaeth disease deaths. Fortunately, most states now have strict laws about smoking in restaurants, workplaces, and other public places. These rules may be frustrating to smokers, but they can be extremely helpful once smokers decide to quit.

My responce

In my opinion most states now have strict laws about smoking in restaurants, workplaces, and other public places. Recently in Thailand had issue a law about smoking too. It should come out stand long already ago.It is very very good law because nowaday in Thai social smokers must die because of cancer more and evry years more. But who are not smoke it not fair for them,They should not to share a toxic from smokers. The law should have to protects them. And that has save many people healthy who are not smoke.

I think that is be correct most to issue a law about smokeing in Thailand. And who are not practice follow a rules,They should be to fine exactly. Healthy is imporntant thing for everyone.

A HEALTHY LOVE
Published: 12/02/2009 at 12:00 AMNewspaper section: Mylife
Taking a wrong step in love may create a toxin that harms your body and mind. The following are some love guidelines to keep you healthy.
1. Learn to be a giver.
The key of love is giving, not taking. If you don't expect anything in returns, you will find the true happiness from love. On the other hand, if you expect something and are disappointed, love will torture you and take away your concentration.
2. Be gentle and kind to your loved one.
Speak good words to each other. Using nice words with the one you love will make them feel warm and calm. Those who live amidst the love and warmth of people around them will have better mental strength than those whose family members often say negative and sarcastic words to each other.
3. People with broken hearts should find something else to do.
When you have a broken heart or your love is not answered, the chemical reaction in your body will get you frustrated, worrisome or depressed. If that happens, don't bury yourself in sadness.
"Remind yourself that whatever belongs to you will stay with you. Whatever doesn't will go away," says the doctor.
The suggestion is to find other activities to do, such as exercise, and practicing meditation so you can forget your heart-aching stories. As you are calm and relaxed, your body will produce endorphin, which functions to refresh your mind and brain.
4. Don't rush into sex
Sex is a simple way of telling love through body languages, so your body should be ready for this sexual activity. Don't rush it, otherwise your response won't be natural, and sex will even cause you stress. If either of you still does not have a desire for sex, tell your partner to wait a little, but also give hope to him or her. The best sexual relationship will be achieved when both partners are happy and reach an orgasm together. By that way, the couple will benefit most from sex.
5. Secrets of prolonged love
These secrets comprise the five rules of relationship, including understanding, trust, respect, help and forgiving. As long as these rules are implemented, your love will be secured and longlasting. Your spirit will be lifted up, and thus your body and mind will be well balanced.
Summary
The author has sharing us some love guidelines to keep us healthy. First, learn to be a giver: give without expecting something in return, we will find the true happiness. You eat what you are!

You eat what you are
A guideline to nutrigenomics
By: DR KRISDA SIRAMPUJ Published: 5/02/2009 at 12:00 AMNewspaper section: Mylife

When you eat an oil-rich, fatty diet, do you ever wonder if your cholesterol rises uncontrollably? Or how some people are able to eat three eggs a day and still not suffer from a rise in cholesterol. These variations can be explained by one component in your body called "genes". Genes help you to control all health aspects. It helps you live a normal life, in short genes are your life.
It seems that you have to accept what your mother and father gave you. In reality, however, you have a chance of improving the function of your genes with a practical diet.
Genes are responsible for all human biological reactions so the food you eat is one of its responsibility. That is the origin of the latest emerging field of personalised anti-aging medicine called "nutrigenomics", which is the study of interaction between genes and diet.
It's the latest cutting edge genomics study which will help to unlock the secret of food to good health and help us to determine what should we eat and what we should not.
There is a good example of nutrigenomics: An lady weighing 120kg underwent nutrition genetic testing. It turned out that her genes were susceptible to green vegetables and whole unprocessed grain. A special diet was devised for her which included broccoli, spinach, Brussels sprouts and rolled oatmeal. On that special diet, she managed to lose 10kg in the first trimester.
The genetic explanation for this is people have specific genes for some foods. It can work together (diet-gene interaction) in an encouraging way or an opposing way. If you have fat-reducing genes it will help you to get rid of your last mean of rice chicken or braised pork leg quite easily.
- A few tips to the diet/gene guidance on how to eat right:
- Avoid a fat rich diet, including red meat and baked items, including pastries. This will not overwork the fat-reducing genes.
- Avoid refined carbohydrates and eat plenty of dark green vegetables and colourful fruit (some 500g on a daily basis) because it will help to counteract inflammatory genes that make you susceptible to many kinds of fatal diseases.
- Boost your antioxidant status with supplements and a diet that is rich in antioxidants. Avoid tobacco because you might not have enough detoxification genes that will help you get rid of the toxic wastes, including aberrant cancer cells.
These three cardinal rules of a nutrigenomics diet approach open a new paradigm of food for health.
Instead of the famous phrase "you are what you eat" in the nutrigenomics era it should be "you eat what you are".
Knowing your genes is only to help you get a basic guideline for selecting the right foods, in the right dose and at the right time.

Summary
From the scenario “you are what you eat”, telling us that all of us have different kind of “genes”, some people’s genes may burn the cholesterol better than others which is really good luck for those guys, we called this genes “the flat-reducing genes”. It seems like we have to accept the genes from our parent, but we should try to take care of ourselves by learning better step to eat. The author has advised that it is our own responsibilities to select or be more careful what you eat such as avoid eating flat rich diet. The author also suggests us a few tips to the diet/gene guidance on how to eat right:
1. Avoid a fat rich diet, including red meat and baked items, including pastries. This will not overwork the fat-reducing genes.
2. Avoid refined carbohydrates and eat plenty of dark green vegetables and colorful fruit (some 500g on a daily basis).
3. Boost our antioxidant status with supplements and a diet that is rich in antioxidants. Avoid tobacco because we might not have enough detoxification genes that will help us get rid of the toxic wastes, including aberrant cancer cells.
The author suggested that we should know our genes are the best way to get basic guideline for choosing the right kind of food, in the right does and at the right time.
Personal
From the above lesson, it is really useful for us to be more careful what we eat because “we eat what we are”. So, we should try to avoid consuming useless food. Although we have the same kind of genes or different kind of genes, actually we should take care of our health, eating only the useful food. In my opinion, for those people who have a lot of “the flat-reducing genes”, it may be good luck for them because even eat so much foods that contains a lot of cholesterol, they are still look slim and healthy but we may not know what there are something left behind or not. So, from the scenario, are warning us to beware of what we eat and advise the better way of eating behavior.

She is a excellently woman can survive from malice person such as Yun Nim, Kim Un Lo, Yong Pin King’s first Concubine from Park Family and Ponk Song Prince first son of King Jong Jung want to be king. However she preserve main tradition in reign don’t like Empress Wu empress of tang dynasty, China Kingdom. She out of reign traditional which She reign replace her son [Heir]. Her capability is evident and worthy of remember in Korean history and World History. And important if we mention a famous woman in Asia we don’t forget her ‘Mon Jong The Queen Dowager’

(@^__^@) The Mountains (@^__^@)

Summary :
This story talks about a boy and his father walking in the mountains. Falling on the way, the boy was hurt and screamed then he was surprised to hear the voice repeating. He noticed, screamed again and heard the same repeating word. He asked his father that what was going on. His father smiled at him and told him to pay attention. A boy then screamed to the mountain again and heard exactly the same words. He still did not understand so his father explained that this is what people call "Echo" but this really a "Life". Our life is simply a reflection of our actions, Life will give you back everything you have given to it.

My response :
After read this story, I think of one expression that says; Good deeds beget good results, while bad deeds beget bad results and Where there’s a will, there’s a way. As this story’s main points wants to tell that us everything your wording and action will return to you. Even if everything what we did, will not be known but it still in my mind. I believe that someday will be my day. I want everyone realize and attend with everything you think, everything you say or everything you will do. Please remember that your life is not a coincidence but it is a reflection of your actions.

The Wooden Bowl

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and a four-year old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together nightly at the dinner table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating rather difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass often milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. "We must do something about grandfather," said the son. I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor. So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner at the dinner table. Since grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. Sometimes when the family glanced in grandfather's direction, he had a tear in his eye as he ate alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence.
One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?" Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and mama to eat your food from when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled. Children are remarkably perceptive. Their eyes ever observe, their ears ever listen, and their minds ever process the messages they absorb. If they see us patiently provide a happy home atmosphere for family members, they will imitate that attitude for the rest of their lives. The wise parent realizes that every day that building blocks are being laid for the child's future. Let us all be wise builders and role models. Take care of yourself, ... and those you love, ... today, and everyday!

Summary: A old man, grandfather of this family are annoy from his son and his family because his action is not good, spilled milk, noisy eating, food on the floor so his family have to separate him from family. He has to ate alone from a wooden Bowl and thatmake him feel sad. One day four year old grandson say I’ am making a little bowl for you and mama to eat your food from when I grow up’ and that remind all family for take good care of him.

Personal Response: No matter what old man do if he or she is a part of your family, you still have to accept that. Love is on important thing in every family.

Children under 15 should not drink any alcohol

Summary
The UK government advises parents that children under 15 should not drink any alcohol. Sir Liam Donaldson, the Government's chief medical officer, said the new advice was based on research which showed the serious damage drink could do to children's health. Sir Liam told GMTV the new advice was aimed at clearing up confusion among parents about the issue. The Government guidelines also advise that children aged 15 to 17 should not drink without the supervision of a parent or care. The Government said the guidance, which is open to consultation and could be changed, was not about it being a nanny state. It said it was wanted to 'empower' parents by giving them information to make good decisions concerning their children.

Personal Response
That explains why France, Spain and Italy, where children are introduced to alcohol at an early age and have a drink with their parents have so many problems with drunken teenagers and have more teenage pregnancies, and catch so many more sexually transmitted diseases than British teenagers? Or are the figures showing that we are in fact the country with the worst problems? This daily lecture over the evils of drink is getting boring now. We have one set of figures showing how better teenagers are in other countries, less pregnancies, less violence etc. One thing those countries have in common, introduction to alcohol from a young age, is supposed to cause the very things they have less problems with than ourselves.

Summary

Organic farming supporters are questioning the Industry Ministry, for classifying 13 herbal plants as hazardous. The director-general of the Industrial Works Department explained that the listing of herbal plants only focused on the pesticides aspect, which is aiming to protect farmers from fake and contaminated pesticides. However, the organic farming organization and Alternative Agriculture Network has argued that this is not the way to control the quality of pesticides as the Ministry has claimed. The Act would affect the farmers themselves and not the big company of pesticide producers; this is why the organic farmers are questioning whether a big company is behind this decision.

Personal Response
In my opinion, the declaration of this ‘listing’ is too sudden and unclear. The industry should have discussed with the group of people that would be affected by this Act, and take every opinion into consideration before decided to approve the announcement. The Ministry has to be clearer with their explanation on the cause and reason of their decision, otherwise the organic farmers have total right to question its act and even take the issue into the court. Moreover, other organizations or Departments involved should investigate this issue carefully, to make certain that the problems would be solved and that the benefit would fall on our farmers and not the big company runners.

Farm lobby threatens to sue over herb list

Summary
The Department of Agriculture chief Somchai Charnarongkul held a press conference Thursday to apologise public for causing confusion after the Industry Ministry listed 13 widely used herbal plants as hazardous substances. The objective of the announcement is to prevent farmers from being fooled into buying products manufactured from the herbal plants that are sub-standard, he added. He also said that he has proposed the hazardous substances committee to amend the announcement. He also said that he has proposed the hazardous substances committee to amend the announcement.organic farming advocates threatened to take the Industry Ministry to court if it refuses to revoke its decision to list the 13 herbs as hazardous plants.

Personal response

Tiger farming

Summary :
Head and carcasses of tigers are displayed after police took them from a truck in Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Hua Hin district. They were hidden under fruit baskets. They immediately expected the tigers had been smuggled in from Malaysia. Most tiger carcasses confiscated from wildlife traffickers by police come from private farms in Thailand.

Comment :
It’s bad!!! I think some of these private tiger farms in Thailand are probably a part of the region’s illegal tiger trade which sends most of the animals to China.

Crop Circles

Crop circles (summary)

This text is about "Crop circles". Crop Circles are areas of cereal or similar crops that have been systematically flattened to form various geometric patterns and later designs were to become increasingly complex. Naturalistic explanations include man-made hoaxes or geological anomalies, while paranormal explanations include formation by UFOs. Crop circles are found in fields, over tree-tops, and in ice and snow. They are mostly often found in wheat or corn fields, but have also been found in oat, rape (canola), and barley. They are a world wide phenomena, highlighted in England since 1970 and spread around the world.

Personal response

In my opinion, Crop circles is a very strange phenomena i have ever heard. Crop circles are not recent, but ancient. I think they are not a hoax and hoaxers could do this. Even though, some enthusiasts argue that some designs have more degree of complexity than humans would be able to easily create in a field at night. However, I hope that the research will bring some new facts in the near future.

Summary

This text is about The United Nations scientific panel studying and identifies the main cause of the global warming. The last report by the group, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, in 2001, had found that humanity had "likely" played a role.

Personal response
In my opinion, people should concern more of environment because nowadays trees have been decreasing more than the past. This problem causes the greenhouse effect which it makes more consequence such as ice melting from Greenland, snow drop in Argentina, etc. The temperature gets higher than 1 degree since 1990, so everyone should take part in using least of carbon dioxide, methane and recycle things as much as you can for reducing the global warming.

SEC : 9231

Summary
This text is about “The Bermuda Triangle” one of the greatest mysteries that no one ever found the real evidence what happened to the area around the southeastern Atlantic coast of the United States. Both aircrafts and ships have all sucked into this area which is noted for a high incidence of unexplained lost. On 5 December 1945, the US Navy took off from Fort Lauderdale for flying over the Atlantic was missing and a large Mariner flying boat also never returned after it was sent to search for the missing aircraft. There is still no explanation of this phenomenon due to the unreliable data.
Personal Response
In my opinion, Bermuda Triangle is the most mysterious story I have ever heard because there is no one would fly or sail across that area after it took life of many crews. Sometimes many situations happen without a trace to find what happened in the past, until today the worst crisis in the earth should be the global warming problems. No matter what will happen to the earth, we should do everything to save all living things as it is one of the most important treasures.

FOGGY LOGIC

Bangkok Post (Travel)

Eighty kilometres west of Bangkok is Ratchaburi blessed with abundant natural beauty and mountain scenery that together with its multi-ethnic diversity and warm hospitality pull in tourists all year round, but more so in winter when people travel there to enjoy cool weather and admire the sight of hilltops and valleys covered in layers of fog.Sitting this side of the Tenasserim mountain range that forms a natural border between Thailand and Burma and fed by the Mae Klong and Phachi rivers, the province is a paradise for birders and campers, especially its inner districts like Suan Phueng on the Burmese border.
Our trip began in Suan Phueng with a night spent in tents we pitched atop Huay Khok Moo, a mountain rising 800 metres above sea level, to catch the first rays of the sun next day. In winter, we were told, a sea of fog envelopes the entire valley, but when we woke up that morning _ and it was still dark _ all there was to see was a small white patch hanging over a section of the valley. Naturally we were disappointed, but we persevered waiting for the sun to come up, and when it did what a magnificent sight it was: in a matter of minutes the entire valley was bathed in a puff of white and the view from the mountaintop absolutely breathtaking.
That same afternoon we visited Ban Bowi, a Karen settlement in tambon Tanaosi, some 10 kilometres from our camping site, and spent a good part of our time sampling the local lifestyle before calling on Baan Hom Tien, a shop, where we tried our hands making aromatic candles.
The next day we drove to Wat Pleng district and visited Wat Praharuethai, a magnificent century-old church, also known as the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. For souvenirs we bought Banpleng peanut toffees, an Otop product of the district, at a shop just five minutes drive from the church, and then we were on our way back to Bangkok, covering the distance in slightly over an hour.

(Summary)
Ratchaburi blessed with abundant natural beauty and mountain scenery that together.

(Personal Response)
I think that Ratchaburi interesting province. It's not far from Bangkok. Around province has many mountian so if you want to feel nature enviroment, you can go there. It's the one choice of who love traveling.

The Rose Within

The Rose Within
A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it.
He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought, "How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns? Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom... it died.
So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us at birth, grow amid the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects.
We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential.
Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns of another, and find the rose within them.
This is one of the characteristic of love... to look at a person, know their true faults and accepting that person into your life... all the while recognizing the nobility in their soul. Help others to realize they can overcome their faults. If we show them the "rose" within themselves, they will conquer their thorns. Only then will they blossom many times over.

summary = A guy planted a rose and was waiting for the flower to open. When he looked at the rose, he saw only the thorns which are ugly and sharp. He did not thing that something beautiful could come from that. A person's soul is just like a rose. Sometimes it takes time for the goodness inside to open up and reveal the beauty inside.

Personal Response: Many people give up too soon or don’t understand the true life. I think it has powerful impact. When people ragged thorns they will remember that with God’s help they can conquer and overcome their weaknesses and then blossom and full potential. It is a great encouragement to seek the rose within each other and in ourselves and by doing that to let it bloom.

Thai military breaked human right

There is the hot news in Thailand that was criticized by people around the world.

After Thai military drove "Rohingya", Muslim refugees from northern of Myanmar, out of Thai area are by bandaged their bodies. To take them on the ships without food and water then was bound them for the sea to back to Myanmar.
UN asked Thai military for the explanation why in this case because that can make those refugees dead in the sea. The navy of Thai army was transgressing the human right.

My Personal Response:

I believe in the natural right of human. We cannot do that. It was vary cruel because it could make them dead on the ship or other ways. Although Thai navy had to do it by their duty but we can use the grand laws to punish these refugees.

Dark chocolate are mainly notable for the high percentage of cocoa solids. There are many types of dark chocolates. The cocoa content of commercial dark chocolate bars is from 30% (sweet dark) to 70%, 75%, or even above 80% (for really dark bars). Honestly speaking, there are no chocolates available, which are 100% dark.

Why do people prefer dark chocolates?

People mainly prefer dark chocolates for a wide number of reasons. There are many health benefits in dark chocolates. Dark chocolate contain more than three times the quantity of catechin as green tea. This makes them potentially some of the best health foods available. The catechin which is available in dark chocolate is able to boost the immune system and help in the prevention of heart diseases as well as other chronic problems.

Contents of dark chocolates: According to the Chocolate Manufacturers Association, dark chocolates possess more than eight times the quantity of polyphenol antioxidants compared to strawberries. Dark chocolate is also rich in minerals such as magnesium, calcium, iron, copper, potassium and zinc. The level of these substances varies greatly which is dependant on the quality of the chocolate and the manufacturing process.

Flavonoid in dark chocolates: There is a high amount of flavonoid in dark chocolates and thus there is a reduction in the chances of stroke and heart diseases. These chocolates contain a high amount of cocoa and certain elements called flavonoids.

Presence of free radicals: You can also find the unstable molecules in the blood called free radicals. Free radicals are capable of increasing the quantity of bad (LDL) cholesterol in the blood that leads to clogged arteries. The function of the dark chocolates is to prevent such thing.

Polyphenol epicatechin: Different cocoa products as well as dark chocolates have antioxidants which also include polyphenol epicatechin. Dark chocolate and cocoa are also known to thin the blood, much like a low-dose of aspirin. A group of plant substances, called polyphenols, are present in dark chocolates.

Anti-ageing property in dark chocolate: Dark chocolate is known to possess anti-ageing property because of the high concentration of antioxidants present in it.

Effect on blood pressure and weight: Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants, and has a direct effect on the blood pressure. It is known to decrease blood pressure to a considerable extent. Those who are especially conscious about their health should remember that dark chocolates are known to increase body weight. So they would need to work out the excess weight and eat lesser portions of other food items.

Phuket Elephant Conservation
Siam Safari was the first company to start elephant trekking in Phuket in 1994. Once, an elephant became sick and a vet in Phuket treated it but, having no experience with elephants, he overdosed it and an expert elephant vet from Bangkok had to be flown down to save it. Thailand has very few vets experienced enough at working with elephants and if an elephant becomes very sick the only hospital is in Lamphang in Northern Thailand; at least two days' drive by 10-wheel truck from Phuket.
Mobile Elephant Clinic Project
Siam Safari contacted the Asian Elephant Foundation in Bangkok and asked if they had a mobile elephant clinic. At that time they did not so in 1995 Siam Safari donated 280,000 baht to the Foundation to help them set up a mobile elephant clinic. The clinic came to Phuket and was helpful but the clinic had to cover the whole country and did not come often and could not come immediately in the case of an emergency.
Siam Safari & Dusit Laguna - Joint Elephant Project
A project called 'Ivory belongs on elephants' was launched with the World Wildlife Fund. Schoolchildren checked all tourist shops in Phuket and if they were not selling any ivory products they were given a sticker saying 'Ivory Belongs on Elephants. No Ivory Sold Here.'Reflective elephant leg bands were purchased and given to elephant camps throughout Phuket so they could be seen at night on the road.
Siam Safari's Mobile Elephant Clinic Project
Siam Safari recruited its own specialist elephant vet Dr. Somchai to take care of its own elephants in Phuket and Surat Thani. Also, in his spare time Dr. Somchai has treated many elephants at other camps in Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi and Surat Thani.
Summary:

This text is about Siam Safari, the first company in Phuket that set up for help the elephant when it was sick.Because Phuket is far from the hospital and has very few vets experienced enough. The lost of elephants were caused of Siam Safari constructed. The Siam Safari awarenesses an important of elephant and wants everybody participate in his company. So he gets idea to creates 3 project. There are Mobile Elephant Clinic Project,Siam Safari&Dusit Laguna-Jpint Elephant Project and Siam Safari's Mobile Elephant Clinic Project.
Personal Response:

In my opinion,I think it's the best company that I have seen. They are Thais and want to conserve those elephants but we are Thais too.Why don't we interest this problem.Elephant is the symbol of Thailand. When foreign think of Thailand, they think of elephant.Because they think it's Thailand's heart. But now,you are ignoring your heart?
On the other hand, this is the way that Siam Safari is reminding Thai people to think about this problem. And i think it's the first step to the next best way.

Learning in context

IN MY OPINION ( STEVE GRAHAM )
Context gives meaning
Im my opinion . one of most important things for a teacher to do is to teach language in a meaningful context. If students can relate to what is being taught, then learning efficiency can be increased.
On the recent trip with my family to Croston House Children's Home in Lamphum. I was able to witness how English has been integrated into the everyday life of children living in a children's home.
Not all homes are run this way. How ever, that would probably have some thing to do with many years Glenn Croston has spent in the British Army and the Metropolitan Police Service .
During my stay, I watched Glenn as he spoke to the children in Thai and English. Many of his instructions to the children were given in English, especially when he wanted children to adorn their shoes and also when he wanted litter and toys put away.
Saravut Riyong, aka " Lucky " , is a child who came to home when he was four months old. He is only two-and-a-half years old now , but he is able to understand such instructions in English ( probably due to his dropping the most rubbish as well as running around barefoot at every available opportunity). What is good for Lucky must surely be good for everyone else. I believe that Lucky understood the instructions because they are relevant to him. He can relate to the order as Glenn is his father figure and because the instructions has been spoken in English ( many times before ).
so he understand what to do .
Lateral thinking
The vast majority of these children had no English language experience at all. This gives me some hope with my quest for primary school teachers of English in Thailand. What if we apply this method in the primary school classroom ? Could we use English instructions in the classroom, too?
Many teachers of English do this already. However, I wonder how many primary school teachers of English in rural areas are able to cope with this ? Students would, over a period of time learn classroom instructions as they tend to be repeacted over and over again. This activity has real meaning as it is a task based on and relevent to what the students have to do it the classroom. In my opinion, this is an ideal example of how imprtant context can be when teaching English to children in Thailand .
Adult learners could also benefit from this type of activity. My students at Udon Thani Rajabhat University are already doing this, and as I have just found out so is Lucky .

Summary
Mamy students find it difficult to learn English because teachers often do not present the language in situations relevant to students.

Personal Response

Title this, talk about Education English language in Thailand .
I think ,it true because students in Thailand not so good to listen or speak English language .And I hope , the government in Thailand can be help how to take care Education English language for primary school by give some equipment, book, toys about how to know English basic . And teachers must present the language in situations relevant to students too.
